Colors and Finishes

Our standard paint colors are:

-Bog Red

-Clapboard White

-Delft Blue

-Hallowe'en Black

-South Portland Straw

Our Standard Stain Colors:

-Honey Pot

-Pumpkin

-Cinnamon

-Smokehouse Brown

-Potomac Cherry NEW!

We use various kinds of wood for our stain finishes:

-Pine

-Maple

-Tiger Maple

-Tiger Oak

We use solid wood for everything, except for the occasional drawer bottom made from hardwood plywood. We never use any particle board for anything! Who wants furniture made from sawdust held together with formaldehyde and wrapped in brown woodgrain paper?   Not you, and not us.

Finishes

We use talent and imagination to mimic the effects of time and use, not toxic coatings. All our finishes are kid safe and environmentally friendly. But don't worry, they're tough too. After we're done with our magic, we put a clear, low luster topcoat to help your purchase look great and wear well. You can order most any finish on any piece in the catalog. Call or e-mail if you have questions --we're pleasant.

Good Design

Good design is timeless. That's why real antiques are hard to find. We scour books, museums, and dealers for examples we can copy or adapt, and you'll find you'll never want to part with one of our Instant Antiques.

Bench Made American

All our furniture is made right here in America, and constructed and finished by hand.
